What the inspector wrote

On 09/14/2023 at 9:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle Hood, made an announced inspection to inspect the facility for a requested room change and playground addition. This facility has two Modulars on site. LPA was greeted by the Director Alejandra Mendez,, Carmen Heredia (ECEP Director) and Marcos Rocha (Disability Health Manager) . The facility has requested to change rooms for the current children 3 \342\200\223 5 years old from Modular #1 to Modular #2. In addition, the facility has requested a Toddler Option serving children 18 months to 36 months in Modular #1. The approval of the toddler option playground space adjacent is separate from the preschool age. A fire clearance was approved. LPA measured and inspected Modular #1 and Modular #2 today. Modular #1 measured 1969 sq. ft., sufficient for 56 toddler option children ages 18 months to 36 months. Modular #2 measured 751.12 sq. ft., sufficient for 21 pre-school children. The facility is currently approved for 77 pre-school children. The toddler option area for the infants 18 months to 24 months playground space measured 3286 sq. ft, sufficient for an additional 91 infant children. Age-appropriate furniture and equipment was in place. The director was reminded a waiver must be in place if the toddler option children ages 24 months to 36 months want to share the preschool children's playground. No hazards were noted. There are 4 toilets and 5 hand washing sinks, accommodating 225 children in Module #1. There's one changing table within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink for the Toddler Option children. There is a food prep sink separate from the hand washing/changing table sink. Children are provided lunch and snacks by the facility. Once a file review is completed, a room change may be granted. LPA conducted a childcare quality management interview with Alejandra Mendez. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the director. No deficiencies are cited. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND WILL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
