On 5/10/2022 at 10:26am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha Malane conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee, Cecilia Dhillon. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. Translation was provided by Language Link translator #14171 & 14176. There was one (1) child present during the inspection. This facility is a single story, three (3) bedroom, three (3) bathroom home. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas are utilized for childcare: child care room and bathroom. Off limits areas include: garage and entire house. The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. Licensee utilizes the backyard for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that supervision is to be given to children during outdoor activities. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water and LPA did not observe and bodies of water during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons or ammunition. Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire 6/2023 and mandated reporter certificate expires 8/4/2023. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. Licensee did not document the last fire and disaster drills, Technical Assistance provided. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
