On September 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection.\302\240 LPA disclosed the purpose of today's inspection which is to also inspect the coverted garage to be used for childcare use and was granted a tour into the facility by the Licensee Alma Ruiz. Four (4) children and two (2) staff were present in the facility during this inspection.\302\240 This facility is a two story, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: Living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom 1, bedroom upstairs room #1 and upstairs bathroom #2, family room, daycare area 1, new daycare room 2, and backyard.\302\240 Off limits areas are upstairs, bedroom #2, #3, #4, laundry room, bathroom #3 and are inaccessible through use of a safety gate and door knob covers. The fire clearance for the new day care room (converted garage) was received on 9/2/21. New daycare room was inspected and cleared to use for daycare use. Hours of operation are: 6:00 am to 10:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 5:00 am depending on parents schedules. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements.\302\240 Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection.\302\240 The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available.\302\240 The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities.\302\240 Bedroom 1 and bathroom 2 is being used upstairs as needed for night shift use and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the applicant understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home . A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances.\302\240Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 2/2023 .\302\240 Licensee has required immunizations.\302\240 Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 3/11/20 .\302\240 Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed.\302\240 The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 8/3/21. There is one play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the play yard. Play yards are free from all loose articles and objects. Licensee physically checks on sleeping infants up to 24 months of age every 15 minutes. An Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)] is maintained for each infant up to 12 months of age. Licensee places infants up to 12 months of age on their backs for sleeping. LPA provided and discussed the following:\302\240 Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children\342\200\231s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions.\302\240 Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare.\302\240 Licensee was also provided information regarding Safe Sleep Regulation Section 102425, SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome.\302\240 LPA and Licensee discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov .\302\240LPA advised if there is an unusual incident to report to call Licensing and to follow up with an LIC624B within 7 days. Incidental Medical services (IMS) policy was discussed.\302\240 Licensee states IMS services are not being provided at this time. No deficiencies cited. The licensee was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058 12/15) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights.\302\240 LPA provided notice of site visit (LIC 9213) and observed it being posted at the facility. LPA interpreted and explained the inspection report to licensee, licensee stated she understood. An exit interview was conducted with the licensee.
