Licensee and licensee's assistants denied the allegation and stated that daycare children never have access to power tools without adult supervision. Licensee stated that on two separate occasions she supervised daycare children at the facility while they used a small adult battery operated drill. Licensee stated that the drill was used by daycare children for a painting project approximately one year ago. Licensee stated that on March 5, 2026, the drill was used to insert a screw into the toy wood kitchen set used for pretend play by the daycare children. Licensee stated that on March 5, 2026 while repairing the kitchen set, daycare children were pretending to be construction workers. Licensee stated that she teaches the daycare children based on the Early Childhood Education Emergent curriculum plan. Licensee stated that the Emergent curriculum plan is child centered, and the learning plans emerge from the children’s interest, questions and curiosity. Daycare parents interviewed expressed no concerns regarding the allegation. Based on interviews conducted, review of video footage, and photos there were no disclosures that corroborated that that licensee provided day care children access to power tools without supervision, interview statements were conflicting. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee KImberly Gonzalez.
