What the inspector wrote

On 3/26/2024 at 10:30 AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Thien Dinh conducted an unannounced, licensee-initiated case management visit in response to an update daycare areas. LPA Dinh met with licensee, Maria Ortega, and informed her of the purpose of the visit. There were 4 children and 2 staff present at the time of this visit. LPA Dinh reviewed the file for the assistant and all requirements are met. The licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the additional room in the back of the house. The additional room included a kitchen and living room#2. The licensee stated that she extended living room #1 and build the additional room, as shown on the updated facility sketch. The daycare area will remain in the living room #1, bathroom#1, and front yard. The off-limits areas include: the additional room, bathroom#2, and Room#1 to Room#4. There is a gate between the living room and the new additional room to make it inaccessible to children in care. The daycare area is free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. The daycare area is kept clean, orderly, with heating and ventilation. There are safe toys, play equipment and materials for children. LPA Dinh observed detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. The applicant was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The applicant stated that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. No deficiencies cited. Licensee submitted an updated application LIC279, written statement of the request, and facility sketch LIC999. Fire Clearance has been approved on 3/5/2024. Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detector are operable. The pressure gauge on the 2A-40BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Maria Ortega. Appeal Rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given to the licensee, Maria Ortega, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
