Routine inspection (3-year)·February 24, 2026

On February 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Oscar Picazo conducted an unannounced Required 3 Year Inspection and met with Licensee Sandra Gonzalez. Upon arrival, LPA was greeted, disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home follows standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Providers primarily language is Spanish. LPA is bilingual in Spanish and and conducted the inspection in Spanish. There were three (3) day-care children present at the time of the inspection. Also present during the inspection was licensee's adult daughter, Diana Carrillo, who is also her assistant. Licensee states she does not care for infants at this time. Licensee accompanied LPA throughout the inspection of this two (2) story, three (3) bedroom, three and a half (3.5) bathroom home. The following areas are used for child care: 1st and 2nd living room, kitchen, dining area, downstairs bathroom #1 and #2, office/playroom, daycare room (studio), and backayrd. Off limits areas are all of upstairs (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) and are inaccessible through use of safety gate. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 5:30 am - 6:30 pm. There are no pools or bodies of water on the property. The home is equipped with central heating and A/C. The fireplace is screened. The fire extinguisher is rated 2-A:10-B:C which meets statutory requirements and is mounted on the wall in the hallway. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested, are operational and met requirements. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are stored in a locked cabinet and made inaccessible to children by way of cabinet latches/locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Licensee utilizes the fully gated front yard for outdoor activities. Licensee stated she provides direct supervision at all times when children are conducting any outside activities. See LIC 809C Continuation... Licensee has an ample amount of children's toys, age appropriate play equipment, books, and non-toxic child safe arts & crafts materials available. The Licensee has a working cell phone. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s files. Children\342\200\231s files reviewed were complete and met regulations. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee's Mandated Reporter AB1207 training expires 03/2027. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 03/2027. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 02/16/2026 and 02/17/26 respectively. The licensee owns the home and provided proof of control of property. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was reviewed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was advised if there is to be an infant in care, there must be one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Cribs or play yards are free from all loose articles and objects. Licensee physically checks on sleeping infants up to 24 months of age every 15 minutes. LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children\342\200\231s records according to regulation, post all required forms. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Licensee was also provided information regarding SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome. On this date, 02/24/2026, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website (meganslaw.ca.gov) was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ.
