What the inspector wrote

On July 9, 2024 , at 1:15 p.m. , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase and met with the Licensee, Ana Gamez .\302\240 LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee.\302\240 Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. A granted fire clearance for 14 children was received on 6/21/24. Six (6) daycare children and one (1) staff was present in the facility during this inspection.\302\240 Licensee and assistant meet immunizations requirements. The applicant provided proof of control of property for review by the Department. This one story, four bedroom, 2 bath home was toured and inspected. The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Applicant will use the following areas for child care: living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom #1 (hallway), and backyard. Off limits areas include: all bedrooms #1, #2, #3, #4, bathroom #2, laundry room, backyard shed, and garage. All made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks and doorknob covers. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available .The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities.\302\240LPA did not observe any bodies of water a the time of this inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.\302\240 Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 5/2025 .\302\240Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 6/10/24 . 5 of 6 children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and contain immunization documentation and Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights form. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the maximum number of children for whom care shall be provided when there is an assistant provider in the home, including children under age 10 who live in the licensee's home and the assistant provider's children under age 10, shall be either: Twelve (12) children with no more than four of whom may be infants or Fourteen (14) children, with at least two of the children with 1 child enrolled in kindergarten and 1 child at least six years of age and no more than three infants, with landlord consent (LIC 9149). No deficiencies cited. A Large Family Child Care Home license may be issued upon final file review. LPA Gloria Gonzalez interpreted and explained inspection report to Licensee in Spanish, Licensee stated she understood. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Ana Gamez.\302\240 The licensee was provided a copy of their report and appeal rights (LIC 9058) . LPA provided notice of site visit, (LIC9213) and observed it being posted at the facility.
