What the inspector wrote

On 10/09/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ortega conducted a Case Management inspection in response to follow up on lead testing State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). LPA met with Site Supervisor, to discuss the water lead retesting. Upon arrival LPA observed 24 children and 09 staff present today. During the inspection, LPA informed Site Supervisor, the results provided from SWRCB, indicated the facility had elevated levels of lead in the water in the kitchen sink, sample A. The Department was notified of the Action Level Exceedance (ALE), levels were located in the kitchen sink (Sample A)with presented levels of 14.0 UG/L. The SWRCB report sample collected the water sample on 09/24/2022. Results were provided to facility on 10/13/2022 . Lab Project Number: 469807 On 10/25/2022 It was observed the water outlet (Sample A) covered and placed as out of service with a sign posted. According to facility the kitchen sink faucet is only utilized for washing dishes and not being used even before getting tested for lead levels due to the facility having a dishwasher in the premises. LPAs Conducting the inspection Villa and Beneroso observed the kitchen faucet (Sample A)inaccessible to children. The sink faucets is not utilized for food preparation and or drinking water. According to facility on 1/26/23, the kitchen sink Faucet (Sample A) and pipes were replaced by a certified Plummer. On 7/22/2023 water sample was collected from area A- Sink faucet Kitchen at 9:07 a.m. On 7/28/2023 facility received results from lab with ID #489377-001, the results for kitchen sink Faucet (Sample A) collected on 7/22/2023 was under the 5.0 ppb allowable. Facility is aware to post lead testing results visible to parents near facility licensee. No citations issued. copy of this report, appeal rights and Notice of site visit was provided.
