What the inspector wrote
On 8/22/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Ali conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the Licensee. The Licensee guided the LPA on a tour of the home. Upon entry to the facility, the LPA observe nine children, licensee, and one assistant. This is a large capacity licensed home. Licensee's facility child roster is current and maintained up to date. There are no IMS children. The operational childcare hours are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 5:30pm.
Staffing Ration and Capacity:
This is a single-story family home. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, one bathroom, garage, laundry area, and backyard. The off-limits areas are the bedroom #2 (safety knob), laundry area (safety gate), and garage (locked). There are bodies of water on premises. Per the Licensee, there is no smoking and no weapons on the premises. LPA observed a large trailer in drive way. Licensee sates that nobody lives in the trailer.
Physical Plant:
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The daycare areas (on-limits) are bathroom, bedroom #1 (nap room), living room, dining room, and kitchen.
Licensee does provide food for the children (morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner). Licensee is part of food program. Licensee provides food and water for the children. There are no window cords in the daycare area. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. LPA observed the living room and dining room to have 7 highchairs, 4 cribs, one changing table near kitchen, and two play kitchens, and cubbies along wall that have several toys for children.
Napping:
Children are provided napping when needed. Licensee provides napping materials, mats and blankets. LPA observed bedroom #1 (first door on the right) to be the nap room for napping/sleeping. LPA observed three cribs and five futons.
Transportation:
The licensee does provide transportation. LPA observed a valid car insurance and driver\342\200\231s license from licensee.
Kitchen:
Knives were observed in top cabinet next to microwave on second shelf, inaccessible to children. Medication is kept in kitchen cabinet left to refrigerator on second self, inaccessible to children by safety gate. Licensee reports that there are no children on medication. Cleaning supplies and chemicals are kept in the accessible under the sink and in laundry area up high on shelf. Licensee states there are no children with allergies at this time. Kitchen has small table for children to dine at or play activities.
Fire Extinguisher:
The required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) is reading in green and in located closet in kitchen. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were found to be in compliance per Fire Marshall Standards. Licensee states the fire marshal come last year when she was approved for her change in location for this daycare. Fire and Disaster drills are conducted at least every six-months, last drills were recorded in 5/5/25 at 11:00am for Earthquake/Disaster and Fire Drill. The First Aid kit included a temperature thermometer, tweezer, scissors, gauzes, and cleansing pads/solution was observed to be complete and inaccessible to children kept in cabinet with medication next to refrigerator.
Bathroom:
The daycare bathroom is located first door on the left in the hallway. It has 1 sink, 1 toilet, and one shower. Bathroom is clean and in good repair. Bathroom has baby wipes, hand soap and plenty of toilet paper. Licensee states she has one potty training lid to help those who are potty training.
Outdoor Space Activity:
The outdoor area is the backyard. LPA observed several play equipment\342\200\231s for children. LPA observed two play equipment, over five scooters, and a table. The back yard is free of broken toys/furniture & equipment, and other sharp items.
Records/Documentation:
LPA reviewed with facility representative the LIC 126, records to be maintained at the facility, for child\342\200\231s records, personnel records, administrative records, and parent board. LPA reviewed staff records (3). Licensee was able to provide a valid Pediatric CPR/First Aid training valid until 2/20/26. Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter Training Certificate expires 7/8/26. Staff records are in compliance. Children\342\200\231s records files are complete. LPA observed safe sleep logs not completed correctly. LPA explained to Licensee on how to fill out the sleep form entries every 15 minutes. Licensee had all the required posted documents: Facility License (LIC 203A, Notice of Parent's Rights Poster (PUB 394), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610A), and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148).
Criminal Record Clearance - Family Child Care Homes
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Megan\342\200\231s Law - Family Child Care Homes
During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
No deficiencies cited are being cited in accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety codes.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
