What the inspector wrote

On February 18, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Isabel Ortega met with Shawna Means, Director to conduct an unannounced case management inspection. The purpose of this case management is to follow up on a self-reported unusual incident report (UIR) submitted to the Department on 2/17/2026. The unusual incident report is regarding the water heater not working. Upon arrival, there were 22 children observed in care and five staff providing care and supervision. During this inspection LPA was provided with the UIR. LPA toured the ten classrooms. In addition, LPA completed a safety inspection of the facility. According to interview conducted with staff and LPA\342\200\231s observation. LPA observed the classrooms to be clean, orderly, and with comfortable temperature of 70 degrees. According to Director the Plummer arrived shortly after heater broke and promptly replaced the Thermostat Coupler which was broken and warm water resumed within two hours. This incident occurred during nap hours so no children were directly affected. The water was not shut off. No citations were issued at this time, Licensee notified CCL in a timely manner. A notice of site visit was provided and requested to be posted for 30 days. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, notice of site visit and appeal rights were provided.
