A required-1 year inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) N. Cunningham. A review of staff records indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently two adults living in the home. During today\342\200\231s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee was supervising six school-age children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility\342\200\231s operating hours are 08:00AM to 05:00PM, Monday\342\200\223Thursday. The children have access to the living room, playroom, kitchen, dining room and one bathroom. The entire upstairs is made inaccessible with a child gate. The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during child care hours. There is a working telephone. There are safe toys and equipment available for children. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were stored out of the reach of children. Poisons are located in the garage and locked according to regulation. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide, and 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The licensee stated no firearms are stored on the property and none were observed during today's inspection. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area, and it is completely fenced. The front yard is off limits and made so with a fence. There is an above ground pool, which is fenced according to regulation. There is also a creek at the back of the property and is made off limits by an appropriate fence and gate. A large trampoline is in the backyard and set up according to manufacture guidelines. Two children's (C1 and C2) records were reviewed at 1:30PM; required emergency information was observed to be on file. The licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to children in care. The Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed with the licensee. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. This report, as well as the AAP Guide to Safe Sleep Practices and The Effects of Lead Exposure brochures, were reviewed and discussed with the licensee. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit.
