What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Gina Wood. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for # 18 preschoolers 2-5 years. Hours of operation will be Monday -Friday, 8am to 11:30pm. The facility is one room and uses entire property. The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: the kitchen made inaccessible with a gate. They receive meals from the elementary next door, the kitchen will be used to store/prepare meals. Children will nap on mats in the classroom. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the office. Fire clearance approved on 6/16/25 The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are no play structures. The poisons are locked in janitors closet & cabinets. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The inside, room square footage measured 745 square feet. Children have access to at least 2 toilets & sinks. The outside, yard square footage measured 5360 square feet. Based on above, sufficient for the requested capacity. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license: 1. Sample menu \342\200\223 one week with serving sizes 2. Brenda & Sharlee prints associated to the facility 3. Director, Sharlee; a. Letter naming director & signed by Brenda b. TB test c. 9052 employee rights Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers: Gina Wood. was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. APPLICANT KNOWS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WILL NEED IMS: This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
