What Happened

This case management inspection addressed an action level exceedance for lead in facility water fixtures. The facility had shut off most affected outlets, children were using brought-from-home water bottles, and bottled water was available in classrooms.

Observations

  • Several faucets and drinking fountains were identified with lead levels at or above 5.5 ppb.
  • Water outlets other than staff-lounge outlet F had been turned off and made inaccessible for children.
  • Children were bringing their own water bottles, with larger water bottles available in classrooms for refills.
