The allegations indicate that \342\200\234Staff are not isolating sick children.\342\200\235 and \342\200\234Staff did not provide a safe environment for daycare children.\342\200\235 Per the Reporting Party (RP), the school does not have an isolation area for sick children, and these children remain in the same area as all the other children. Some children who present with obvious symptoms such as a runny nose and cough are not sent home immediately, and the remaining children are then exposed to sick children. When interviewed, all parents and staff stated that the facility does not have an infant isolation room. All the sick infants remain in the classroom until the parents pick them up. The parents are not always able to pick the children up immediately, and therefore, the other children are exposed to sick children. During the first inspection conducted by LPM, Betty Bell, and LPA, Ellorine Jankins, they observed a room with a sign designated for isolation was not equipped with a crib, cot or mat for each infant requiring isolation. Based on observations and interviews conducted the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegations are found to be SUBSTANTIATED.
