What the inspector wrote

On 02/24/26 at 10:10am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Veronica Martinez Garza and Crystal Green conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Applicant/Facility Representative Sandra Trani. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 24 preschoolers ages 3-5 in classroom 13. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 08:00am \342\200\223 02:30pm. Present during today's inspection were 18 children with 0 3 staff. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed Sandra Trani that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 861.27 which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 Children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via a filtered water pitcher with paper cups. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 01/06/26. Per facility representative, the preschool program does not have a designated restroom and children will be sharing the restroom used by the elementary children. LPAs observed a total of 3 sinks and 2 toilets available for children's use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 children. The facility currently has a fenced playground area. The chain link fence is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 2076.38, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Page 1 of 2 Shade is provided via a tree. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking water is available via a filtered water pitcher with paper cups. LPAs observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Garvey School District was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. Food service will be provided by the Garvey School District. The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license: -Updated fire clearance will need to be obtained to reflect the capacity obtained during the inspection. -The Applicant must submit a waiver requesting to share use of the elementary school girls restroom using a staggered schedule. Applicant/Licensee Representative Sandra Trani understands that all proof of corrections must be provided to the Department within 30 days, or the application may be denied. A notice of site visit was given to facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days."
