What the inspector wrote

On December 2, 2024, an unannounced Case Management - Plan of Corrections (POC) inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA\342\200\231s) Staicy Perry and Joanne Solorio Campos ensure (2)Type A deficiencies issued on 11/19/2024 were cleared and (9) Type B deficiencies were cleared. LPA\342\200\231s met with Director Pam. Census was taken and LPA Perry observed children in care with staff. Today, LPA\342\200\231s observed: - All combustibles, cleaning equipment and cleaning agents to be stored in the kitchen in an area separate from food supplies in a locked cabinet or in a location inaccessible to children and LPA\342\200\231s observed documentation of staff training. - Licensees ensured the inaccessibility of pools, including swimming pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds or similar bodies of water, through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence. LPA\342\200\231s observed the area to be in compliance with Title 22 regulations. Provided Director with new Pool Regulations. -Furniture and equipment is maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA\342\200\231s observed a new vinyl diapering mat was purchased. -Each cot or mat is equipped with a sheet to cover the cot or mat and, depending on the weather, a sheet and/or blanket to cover the child. (2) Bedding is individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable, and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding. LPA\342\200\231s observed a daily inspection log that was completed and staff training was conducted and recorded. -The childcare center is in clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. LPA\342\200\231s observed it to be operating. -Solid waste to be stored, located and disposed of in a manner that will not transmit communicable diseases or odors, create a nuisance, or provide a breeding place or food source for insects or rodents. (1) All containers used for storage of solid wastes, including moveable bins, have a tightfitting cover that is kept on; to be in good repair; and is leakproof and rodent-proof. LPA\342\200\231s observed trash bins with tight fitting lids that were purchased. -Fireplaces and open-faced heaters are made inaccessible to children to ensure children's safety. LPA\342\200\231s observed the heaters to be removed. - A teacher-child ratio of one teacher supervising 24 napping children is permitted provided that the remaining teachers necessary to meet the overall ratio specified in Section 101216.3(a) are immediately available at the center. Director submitted declarations from teachers stating understanding of the CCLD Ratio training. - On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child day care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility completed the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and completed renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training. Director provided staffs training certificates. -A child care center director completed 16 hours of health and safety training if necessary pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866. Director has confirmed registration of training and certification will be provided. -At least one staff member who is trained in pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866 and is present when children are at the child care center or offsite for center activities. Director provided all staffs CPR certification. LPA provided the facility with a "Letter of Deficiency Citations Cleared." Letter must be filed in facility for three years and upon request made accessible to the public for review. Per Chapter 3, Division 12, Title 22 Regulations no deficiencies are observed today. LIC9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. Exit interview was conducted with director Pam Rasmussen. Appeal rights provided and discussed.
