What the inspector wrote

An Informal office meeting was conducted on this date to discuss concerns the Department has regarding the above facility. Present at the meeting were Christina Moore, Chief Program Officer and Victoria Casa, Assistant Director. Also in attendance are Ana Chico, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) and Kruz Long, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA). The purpose of this informal meeting is to discuss recent citations pertaining to personal rights violations and the licensee’s responsibility to report unusual incident to the department. A copy of Title 22 Section 101212 Reporting Requirements was provided and reviewed. LPM Chico also inquired about specifics as to training topics, including the training is provided by. Also discussed was Maryvale’s employee policy regarding staff conduct. The following items were discussed: Facility policies and procedures shared during meeting. Facility reset getting back to basics and expectations. Goals for children. Feedback from staff. Staff relations. Reporting requirements. Children's personal rights. Staff training and communication. Code of conduct. According to Christina Moore there are monthly staff meetings for all staff with the director and other consultants as well as online training. According to Ms. Moore an in person staff training was provided in August regarding personal rights of the child. Orientations are conducted to go over policy and procedures. Training include behavioral management and staff tones. page 1 of 2 During the office meeting, Christina Moore, Chief Program Officer and Victoria Casas, Assistant Director were provided with resources available which can be used for training. Also offered was assistance from our Technical Support Program which is available at no cost. https://www.caearlylearningvideos.org/en_login.aspx https://cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-and-development/quality-improvement-initiatives If a facility chooses not to utilize TSP, LPM Chico recommended continuance of outside qualified vendor that can provide comparable service to help address the concerns discussed today. It was agreed that TSP will be obtained. Licensing staff was informed that there will be change in Directors. The licensee is required to provide copies of this Informal meeting to parents. The licensee will provide a copy of this report to the parent/guardian of children currently enrolled by the next business day or immediately upon return. A copy of this report shall also be provided to the parent/guardian of any newly enrolled children for the next 12 months (1 year). The licensee will obtain a signature and date from the child's parent/guardian on the Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224). The licensee will keep a record immediately upon receipt of the completed and signed LIC 9224 acknowledging receipt of this report in the child's file. Licensee was provided a copy of the LIC9224. Licensee was advised that a copy of this report will be forwarded to the local Resource & Referral Agency Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report provided to Christina Moore. page 2 of 2
