What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Nolan Tcheng and Caroline Nguyen conducted an unannounced Case Management-Licensee Initiated inspection, for the purpose of measuring classrooms for a capacity increase. Upon arrival at 11:20am, LPAs met with Facility Representative Linda Brown to whom the purpose of the inspection was explained. This facility is licensed as a Preschool Program with a capacity of 56, serving children ages 2-6yrs. in Classrooms #2, #3, #4, and #5. Facility is requesting to decrease Preschool Program capacity by removing Classroom #2 from existing licensed areas; decreasing the total capacity by 8 children, equaling a total of 48 children. Classroom #2 will be added to Good Shepherd's Infant program (191598906) on the same property. A tour of the facility was provided. There are 35 children with 7 staff members There are two (2) restrooms available for preschool children: One in Classroom #5 and one shared bathroom next door to Classroom #5. LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured the existing indoor preschool activity space. Classroom #3, #4, and #5 measured to be 2293.22 square feet (sq ft), which is sufficient to accommodate the requested total capacity of 48 children. LPAs observed the indoor activity space to be complete and safe. There were age appropriate furniture, toys, equipment, and materials. There are four (4) toilets and five (5) sinks available for children in care. The facility has a fully fenced playground for Preschool children. Outdoor play area measurements obtained during today's inspection, were documented as 9694.75 sq ft, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the play yard. Drinking water is available outside. No weapons, firearms, or bodies of water were observed. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items on the play yard. Fire clearance was approved on 01/21/2026. REPORT CONTINUES PAGE 1 of 2 Upon final file and application review, the facility will be issued a new license for a total capacity of 48 preschool children. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Facility Representative Linda Brown, at 1:30pm. Copy of report provided.
