What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeanette Estrada conducted an unannounced annual inspection at the facility. LPA met with Licensee Marie Johnson and explained the reason for the visit. LPA observed on child present in the facility. All adults living in the home were discussed an verified. The facility provides care to children 3 months to 12 years and operates from Monday through Saturday 24 hours. Licensee was advised care cannot be provided for a continuous 24 hours. This is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home. The on limits areas to children are the living room and kitchen (in passing) through to the family, infant nap room, classroom area and the restroom. There is a section of the yard which is on limits. Off limit areas include 3 bedrooms two bathrooms and garage LPA inspected areas available to children in care. LPA observed required posted items. LPA observed age appropriate furniture, toys and equipment for all age ranges available in the facility. LPA observed one play yard, two cribs and two high chairs available for infants enrolled. Licensee was reminded there shall be no loose items in the cribs or play yards. Per Licensee there is also napping equipment available for older children. LPA observed an inaccessible fire place in the family room. The facility has central air and heating. Licensee provides food to children in care. Per Licensee there are no children with allergies enrolled at the moment. LPA observed a fire extinguisher with a service tag dated 6/25/25 and a combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the facility. The last disaster drill was conducted on 7/9/25. Cleaning supplies are stored in a latched closet and knives are stored in a latched upper cabinet. Personal medicine is stored in an off limits restroom. Per Licensee, at this time no children enrolled require medication but medication is administered if needed with proper documentation. The restroom available to children is in the classroom area. LPA did not observe any hazards in this restroom. Per Licensee the isolation area is in the family room. LPA inspected the on limits outdoor area. Page 2 The outdoor area is fully enclosed. There are toys and materials available for children. Per Licensee there are no pets at the facility. LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the facility. Per Licensee there are no weapons in the home and poisons are kept Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed. Staff records were reviewed. Licensee's mandated reporter for childcare providers training expires on 8/3/25 and the pediatric first aid/cpr issued by the Red Cross expires 3/15/27. LPA advised that both mandated reporter training and pediatric first aid/cpr must be updated every two years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Page 3 During the exit interview, the Licensee Marie Johnson, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. No deficiencies were issued today. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Marie Johnson.. .
