What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cynthia Reyes conducted a case management inspection due to an incident that occurred on 11/13/2025. This inspection is to ensure the health and safety standards as required by the regulations governing child care centers are met. LPA met with Gabriel Munoz, Child Development Supervisor. who took LPA on a tour of the day care inside and out. The facility states there was an incident with a 2 year old child that had difficulty swallowing his food and teacher had to do the Heimlich maneuver and the child expelled a piece of meat and a bay leaf. Per interviews there was a teacher standing in front of the child and two CDT (aids) sitting with him and the other children, one was sitting directly next to him. Child tends to eat quickly and stuff his mouth and staff states they are always reminding the children to not stuff their mouth and take their time. Director also advised the staff as a reminder that when the food is brought to the class from the kitchen to observe the food to ensure it is properly eatable for the children. The parent did not take the child to the doctor, signed the incident report, was given a copy and observed the child to be fine and return to school the next day with no issues. The facility followed all proper procedures per the parent hand book/admission agreement, incident reports were called and sent in properly and timely, all medical needs were met if needed and parents notified. Based on information obtained for this Incident on this date, no follow up is necessary. Consultation regarding. No citation was given on this date. Copy of ouch report was given Exit interview and consultation was conducted with Gabriel Munoz, Child Development Supervisor and a notice of site visit and appeal rights explained & provided.
