Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced case management inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Director Veronica Palomera The purpose of the inspection conducted was to obtain measurements for a new classroom. The facility submitted an update application to move 1 preschool classroom from its current location to the new classroom. During a previous inspection LPA Lee was able to confirm that the new classroom being measured was not included in the measurements to obtain the current capacity of 58 children. The facility does not wish to change the overall capacity of the preschool program. One preschool classroom will move from its current location to the new classroom being measured. The new classroom was a circular dome classroom located near the outdoor play space in the rear of the property. During the inspection LPA Lee measured the indoor activity space of the new classroom. The following measurements were used to calculate the indoor activity space of the classroom. Distance from the side of classroom to the center was 18 feet which means (18 = r) . The formula to obtain an area of a circle is 3.14 x (r)^2 = 3.14 x ( 18 x 18) = 3.14 x 324 = 1017.36. The total indoor activity space was 1017.36 which is then divided by 35 square feet per child. 1017.36 / 35 = 29.06 = 29 children. Based on the measurements obtained and the calculations shown above, the total indoor activity space for the new circular classroom was 29 children. The notice of site inspection must remain posted for a period of 30 days during hours of operation. Failure to maintain posting will result in a civil penalty of $100.00 dollars. Exit interview conducted with Director Veronica Palomera. Appeal rights discussed and explained.
