Page 1 of 2: On 04/14/2026 at 1:10 pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Crystal Green and Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Facility Representatives, Angela Barlow. This facility is currently licensed to serve (60) children: (16) Toddlers from ages 18 to 36 months and (48) Preschoolers from age 2 until entry into first grade. The Licensee, The Almansor Center, is requesting to remove their existing toddler program and increase their preschool capacity. They are requesting to increase the preschool capacity to 68 children from age 2 until entry into first grade. There is also an existing infant program (191598412) that operates on the same premises separately both indoors and outdoors. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am – 5:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were 58 children with 12 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed Facility Representatives that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPAs continued to tour the facility and remeasured the indoor and outdoor activity space for the preschool program. Total indoor activity space measured 2,696.11 square footage, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of (68) Children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filtered water jugs. Page 2 of 2: LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on April 9, 2026, by South Pasadena Fire Department. LPAs observed a total of (7) sinks and (7) toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of (68) children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. The total square footage for the Preschool outdoor activity space is 6,367.00 square feet, which can accommodate the requested the capacity. Facility Representatives were reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. No corrections are needed. A license for (68) children will be granted upon a final file review. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representatives, Angela Barlow. A notice of site visit was given to the facility representatives and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
