LPA met with Office Manager, Annabelle Lopez who guided LPA on a tour of the facility both indoors and outdoors. Director, Sofia Valdez was not available during LPAs arrival but later arrived. Census was taken. During the inspection LPA reviewed new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the testing of water for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs) with facility representative during the inspection. Per AB 2370, all CCCs that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing. Facility provided water assessment dated August 17, 2022. Facility could not provided required forms, facility sketch, LIC 9276 and LIC9275 to LPA during this inspection. The drinking fountain and faucet have been covered since the discovery of its lead level exceedance and has not been used for drinking or meal preparation. The proof was verified in person during this inspection and pictures were taken by LPA Garcia . Ms. Valdez stated that the facility has replaced faucet and drinking fountain and is in the process of re-testing. Grant funding will be available for testing and remediation of lead to the Child Care Centers that qualify. To make a determination of eligibility, refer to PIN 21-04-CCP.
