Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

During interviews, there were no disclosures by staff, parents or children regarding staff not preventing day care children from engaging in inappropriate behaviors. The Preschool Director disclosed that children do refer the two-year-olds as “baby”; Principal and Staff #1 corroborated that children call each other “baby”. Per Staff #1 children “think it is funny” to call other children, teachers, and parents “baby”. Staff and parents did not disclose any incidents of bullying at the school. Parents interviewed reported they were happy with the care and supervision provided by the facility. During records review, the LPA did not find any reports of injuries resulting from children engaging in inappropriate behaviors in the children's files. This agency has investigated the complaint alleging staff did not prevent day care children from engaging in inappropriate behaviors. Based upon the evidence as presented above, the allegations have been determined to be Unsubstantiated. A finding of Unsubstantiated means that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore at this time the above allegations are unsubstantiated. There were no deficiencies cited on the above-mentioned allegations per California Code of Regulations Title 22. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Principal Jennifer Ha. Copy of Report provided.
