What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection on this date. LPA met with Director Pam Deem who provided a tour of the facility. The facility operates from Monday through Friday, 6:30 am through 6:00pm. LPA Lee toured the facility which consists of 3 components on the same site. There is also an infant component (#191501406) and schoolage component (#198001785). The preschool designated classrooms are A, C, & D. The preschool shares their outdoor space with the schoolage component and a waiver is on file. There is a kitchen that is used to provide food for all components. LPA Lee inspected the preschool classrooms and observed age appropriate equipment, toys, and furniture. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Napping equpiment in form of cots were observed. Linens are taken home each week to be washed. There is drinking water available in form of water jug and personal bottles. Children's restrooms were observed to be clean with adequate supplies. The outdoor space was inspected for age appropriate equipment, cushioning, and to be hazard free. Drinking water is available outdoors via personal bottles. The kitchen was inspected by LPA Lee. Trash can with tight fitting lid was observed. Two snacks and lunch are provided by the facility. All preparation areas were observed to be clean and in order. There is sufficient storage and cabinet space for supplies. A facility menu was observed to be posted on the refrigerator. The facility serves AM snack, Lunch, and PM snack. Per Director, the isolation area is located in the office and a staff restroom available for ill children. There is a mat available when needed. Medication is stored in a lock box in the office. During the inspection LPA Lee advised the Director to refer to the California Department of Health's guidance on child care centers to obtain the most updated information regarding safe and sanitary practices. Staff and children's records were reviewed. The facility maintains their children's roster. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) \342\200\223 must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.
