What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced case management licensee- initiated inspection to inspect facility for capacity increase determination. LPA met with Site Director, Adriana Vasquez, who provided analyst a tour of the facility. Facility operation hours are from Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. This facility currently operates on Emery Park Elementary School's campus. The school age program currently operates out of their designated portable located at the rear of the campus physically separate from the Elementary school. The school age program was observed operating and census was obtained during this inspection. This facility is currently licensed to care for (45) school- age children. The facility was observed to be operating within its licensed capacity. The licensee has requested to add classroom P29 to their existing license in order to increase capacity. The proposed additional classroom will be located in the portable classroom across from basketball courtyard. LPA observed classroom to have access to the restroom located in the hallway next to the courtyard. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Per Director, children will be escorted to and from the restroom at all times. LPA inspected the proposed classroom and observed age-appropriate furniture. The classroom was observed to contain musical instruments and chairs. There are smoke detectors and fire extinguishers located throughout the facility. There will be drinking water accessible to the children in care via water picture with disposable cups and personal sippy cups. LPA did not observe any violations or hazards indoors. Report Continues Page 1 of 2 Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. Outdoor equipment was observed to be age-appropriate. Outdoor activity space surface was observed to be maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the outdoor play area. LPA observed there to be cushioning material available in areas around and/or under climbing equipment to absorb a fall. LPA did not observe any violations or hazards outdoors. Measurements were not obtained during this inspection. An approved Fire Clearance has been received by the department. Upon return to the regional office, a final review of the application documents will be completed prior to approving for the capacity increase of (73) children. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Report Ends Page 2 of 2.
