Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Staff interviews described the process of changing an infants diapers. Per Staff #1 and 6, diaper changes are “thorough.” The description of changing the diaper and products used, were described to LPA during the discussion. During interviews with Staff #2-6, all corroborated that they check the children’s diapers every two hours. Staff #2-3 state that sometimes they are not completely clean but it is not often. They will ensure it gets cleaned to ensure rashes do not start. Children are nonverbal and were not interviewed during this investigation. Parents interviews made not disclosures regarding the above allegation and all stated that their children’s diapering needs were being met. During inspection on 09/01/2023, LPA also reviewed the diaper changing logs that are kept and completed for each child daily. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. Information from complainant also indicates that the facility is not reporting all injuries to the child's authorized representative. Staff interviews all corroborated that injuries are logged on the ProCare App that staff and parents have access to. Staff also stated that parents are notified of the injuries. Staff #1 states that they have to be observant of the infants and look over their bodies during their diaper changes. Staff #4 said that body checks are done with the infants but they also speak with the parents during drop off. Parent interviews state that the facility communicates well with them regarding their child and injuries. Parents disclosed the use of the App for communication. Parent #3 notes the communication on the App as "frequent." Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Exit interview was conducted with Director Diane Connell, at 2:30pm. Copy of report provided. END OF REPORT PAGE 2 of 2
