What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Austin Estrada conducted an unannounced case management inspection at the above facility to follow up on an incident that was reported to the Department. Upon arrival, LPA met with Co-Director Erika Meza who provided LPA a tour of the facility. Director Renee Estrada arrived at a later time. LPA observed 8 children supervised by 1 teacher in room 2, 12 children supervised by 1 teacher in room 3, 19 children supervised by 2 teachers in room 4, and 9 children supervised by 1 teacher in room 5. On 6/2/23, an unusual incident report was made to the department regarding a new play structure being built at the facility. LPA observed the outdoor play area to have age-appropriate toys and materials for children. The outdoor play area was observed to be free of loose, sharp, and/or pointed parts. LPA observed required cushioning under play structures to absorb a fall. LPA observed a section of the outdoor play area that is still being renovated. LPA observed the area to have a tarp that covered items such as wood and bricks. The area was taped off and made off limits to children in care. Per Director Renee Estrada children are always supervised while playing outside. Director Renee Estrada states that the area should be completed by 8/4/23. Director Renee Estrada will provide LPA of a picture of the area when it is completed. Based on LPAs observations, Per California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12, no deficiencies are be cited during today's visit as the facility adhered to the proper reporting requirements. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100.00 civil penalty. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director Renee Estrada. Appeal rights were also provided to Director Renee Estrada.
