What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Warren Birks and Angelica Wallin conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection at the facility noted above and met with Director, Emily Gould and Education Coordinator (EC) Jamare Harris. The purpose of the inspection is to amend a previous September 22, 2023 capacity change inspection report (in which the system did not capture two signatures). This is a Preschool Program serving children two (2) through entry into first grade. The facility is housed on the site of the Barbara and Ray Alpert Jewish Community Center. The current hours of operation are: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The preschool program (indoors and outdoors) is physically separate from other programs and activities on the grounds. There is no commingling with other programs. The facility consists of 9 classrooms: Room 1 (2 teachers and 3 children), Room 2 (2 teachers and four children), Room 3 (2 teachers and 9 children), Room 4 (1 teacher and 7 children), Room 5 (2 teachers and 12 children), Room 6 Toddler (Empty), Room Toddler 7 (Empty). Room 8 (2 teachers 12 children), Room 9 (2 Teachers 17 children). An approved fire clearance has been granted on September 18, 2023 for a total of 204 children. There is an elevator to accommodate children for the upstairs classroom. LPA also observed a total of three extra portable potties (2 extra purchased for the toddler room) to go along with two in ground toilets. Note: Two toilets and three portable potties will accommodate a total of 24 toddlers. In addition LPA informed Director, Emily Gould and Education Coordinator (EC) Jamare Harris that the rest of the paperwork will be reviewed by the Department. Exit interview was conducted with Education Coordinator Jamare Harris. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site inspection by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as will result in a $100 civil penalty.
