What the inspector wrote

On 12/15/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Risher, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Tatiana Cortes , and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are 7:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday. LPA confirmed facility phone number:323 272 3429. LPA observed 18 children with 3 staff present at the preschool The facility has 3 classrooms:Preschool A, Preschool B and Jr Kinder. There is an in-ground swimming pool that is fenced per regulation to make it inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. Swimming pool is used during the summer. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. LPA observed furniture and equipment are in good condition. LPA inspected the bathrooms and all equipment is operating properly. Director stated the preschool does not have a kitchen. The children bring snack and lunch from home each day. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. . LPA tested the carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors during inspection. LPA observed fire extinguishers and first aid kits in each classroom. LPA observed age-appropriate play equipment in the outside play area. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. LPA completed file reviews for children and staff. Children and staff files were complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification. LPA observed proper sign in/out documentation. Director stated the facility does not have menus posted due to the children bringing lunch and snack from home. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Tatiana Cortes
