What the inspector wrote

On 11/29/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Risher conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Stacy Kesner , and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9am-2pm. LPA observed 29 children with 8 staff. LPA confirmed the facility phone number:310 276 9776 The facility has 4 preschool classrooms. LPA observed designated cubbies in each classroom. LPA observed age appropriate equipment in each classroom. LPA observed furniture and equipment in good condition. LPA inspected the bathrooms and observed all equipment operating properly. Director stated the facility provides snacks and the children bring lunch from home. Director stated children do not take naps at the facility. LPA did not observe any nap equipment at the facility. LPA inspected the outside play area during the inspection. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises . There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed the carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors during inspection. LPA observed fire extinguishers and first aid kits in each classroom. LPA completed file reviews for children and staff. Children and staff files were complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification. LPA observed proper documentation for fire drills. LPA observed proper sign in/out documentation. LPA observed the required documents posted on the parent board. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. F acility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Stacy Kesner
