What the inspector wrote

On 04/02/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tyra Chavies arrived at the above named facility to conduct an unannounced case management visit. LPA Chavies arrived at facility and conducted observation of children in care without assistant from director and/or other staff members. At 12:10 PM LPA Chavies walked into Prek2 classroom and observed 13 children laying on cots with 1 teacher.  C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 were waving and greeting LPA as LPA observed classroom. LPA confirmed with S1 the number of children in Classroom. S1 Confirmed a total of 13 children. Around 12:40 PM LPA Chavies walked back to Prek2 and observed 2 teachers supervising 13 children, which brought PreK2 back into compliance.  Around 12:43 PM LPA Chavies walked into PreK1 Classroom and observed 14 children with 1 teacher, C6 and C7 were awake. LPA confirmed with S2 the number of children in Prek1 classroom. S2 confirmed a total of 14 children. LPA Chavies did advised director if 1 child is awake during nap time then regulation 101216.3 (a) must be followed. Technical: A teacher-child ratio of one teacher supervising 24 napping children is permitted provided that the remaining teachers necessary to meet the overall ratio specified in Section 101216.3(a) are immediately available at the center. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, a Technical Violation is being given. See LIC 9102.
