What the inspector wrote

On 08/14/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton arrived at the Cabrillo Avenue Early Education Center, unannounced to conduct a Plan of Correction visit. LPA Clayton was greeted by Principal Paula Swearingen. LPA Clayton observed 52 in care children being supervised and cared for appropriately by 9 fingerprint cleared staff. On 07/30/2025, the CCC was cited for the following: 1. Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision 101229 (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. (1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time,......Supervision shall include visual observation. The Plan of Correction was met as: Cleared by today\342\200\231s visit and on August 4, 2025 LPA Clayton received written declarations of understanding regarding supervising children in childcare centers from the Principal and teaching staff. An exit interview was conducted. A copy of this report and the Deficiency Citations Cleared letter were discussed and provided to Principal Swearingen. LPA Clayton posted the Notice of Site visit which is to remain posted for 30 days. Based on LPA\342\200\231s interview and observations, further investigation is required. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided to Principal Swearingen. LPA Clayton posted the notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) which must remain posted for 30 days.
