What Happened

Complaint investigation substantiated. Dust in classroom #3 caused illness in three teachers and five children. Staff unable to work 2-3 days. Inadequate air circulation requiring temporary portable air conditioner and humidifier until new unit installed.

Observations

  • Three teachers became ill from dust (coughing, unable to work 2-3 days)
  • Five children were coughing and became ill
  • Two children seen by doctor (confirmed not contagious)
  • Two staff attributed illness to dust in air
