What the inspector wrote

On 2/26/2026 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Lovest conducted an unannounced case management visit. LPA Lovest met with Office manager J.Martinez. LPA informed Office Manager about the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility. LPA observed 83 children with 26 staff. The purpose of today's visit is to follow-up on a self- reported unusual Incident (LIC 624) reported to Community Care Licensing on 02/17/2026. Information was received that child had access to hazardous item brought to school from child's home. During today\342\200\231s visit LPA Lovest conducted interviews with staff. LPA Lovest reviewed children\342\200\231s roster and personnel records. Based information obtained, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, the facility did not ensure that potentially hazardous items were made inaccessible to children in care. Hazardous item, nail polish, was stored in the C1's backpack with S1's knowledge. Nail polish was accessible being stored in child's backpack. Therefore, the incident of child having accessibility to hazardous items is met,SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulation, Title 22, 101238(g) is being cited on the attached LIC 809-D. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report was provided. Appeal rights were reviewed and provided to J.Martinez.
