What the inspector wrote

On 2/20/26 at 9:00 AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Claudia Kam conducted an Unannounced Case management Inspection to follow up on an incident that was reported to the Department. Upon arrival, LPA announced purpose of inspection and met with Facility Representative, Principle Kandis Hamblet who granted entry to facility. Census was taken. On 1/21/2026 an incident was reported to The Department where a child sustained an injury while in care. The facility reported this incident to the Department within the required 24 hours and submitted written report within seven days. During this inspection LPA interviewed staff, and observed area where incident took place. Facility Representative informed Licensing that a child was injured when his finger was caught in a door jam when a child closed the door. Staff administered first aid and contacted the paramedics. Paramedics looked over the injury redressed but no further attentions required. Parent was contacted and took child to the hospital. Child was cleared to return to school after 10 days. Child has not returned to school. The area was observed and area had no hazards. Based on the information obtained and LPA observation LPA determined there is no danger to the children and no adjustments needed. The facility was found in compliance per Title 22 regulations, there will be no deficiencies cited today. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
