What the inspector wrote

PAGE 2 Interviews conducted by LPA with the Director revealed that notifications of positive cases were released to parents the day the facility was notified. Notifications were sent via the Brightwheel app used to communicate with parents. Director stated that the notifications of the positive cases was provided by upper management and they did inform that no one was exposed because it was stated that classes were still being held. LPA interviewed parents who agreed that at one point it was unclear if their children were exposed to the positive case(s) and if the classrooms needed to be closed. Parents also stated that they spoke to the Director individually and the issue was clarified. The Director also informed LPA that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health was contacted to verify if cases needed to be reported. Per the Director, she was informed that the cases did not need to be reported and there did not need to be any closures for the classrooms. Additionally, the Director stated that if there are individuals identified as close contacts, they would be notified individually. The facility followed required guidance which included notifying parents of the cases and instructing confirmed positive (staff) and exposed individuals of their required quarantine time. Although the facility claims they contacted the LA County DPH for guidance on reporting and closures via a phone call, the information they were given could not be verified. Based on information obtained during the investigation, the allegation was determined to be unsubstantiated. Unsubstantiated – A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred. No deficiencies were cited today. Exit interview was conducted with Facility Representative. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) and the Appeal Rights were given and explained to the Facility Representative. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
