What Happened
This complaint investigation substantiated allegations that rodents were present and that floors were not maintained in clean and sanitary condition. During a prior tour on 2023-05-22, the inspector observed rodent droppings inside a classroom and rodent traps on site, and the director confirmed the rodent issue. Pest control had been contacted and entry points repaired, but the facility was still cited because the condition had existed.

(1) The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. This requirement not met as evidence by: Licensee did not ensure that facility was free of rodents. The facility shall be in sanitary conditions at all times. Rodents and rodent dropping presence at the facility was confirmed. This is a Type B violation, which poses a potential health and safety risk to persons in care.
