What the inspector wrote

Allegation #2: Licensee did not provide food for day care child. As part of the investigation, LPAs conducted confidential interviews with staff members, children, parents, and the Licensee to gather additional information regarding scheduled meal times of children. The interviews produced consistent statements indicating children regularly received breakfast, lunch, and morning snack. Additionally, Licensees stated extra snack are available, should the children request one. LPAs observed ample food for children at the time of inspection. Based on the information gathered, and due to the conflicting nature of the statements provided, there was insufficient evidence to validate the allegation. Allegation #3: Day care child sustained injuries due to licensee neglect. During the investigation, confidential interviews were. Statements obtained were consistent in indicating that neither the Licensees nor staff members allowed children to sustain injuries due to neglect. Confidential interviews conducted with parents did not reveal any concerns regarding the care and supervision provided at the facility. LPAs also reviewed reporting requirements with the Licensees. Based on the information gathered, and due to conflicting statements obtained during the investigation, there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation. Allegation #4: Licensee did not provided a comfortable environment for day care child. Further, allegations state children are left outside in the sun for extended periods without food. After review of complaint relevant documents, including food program reports, and daily schedules, it was revealed the facility follows an early head start program, with an established curriculum. Children are allowed to play outside for approximately 1.5 hours daily, weather permitting. The outdoor spaces allow ample room for shade and rest. Children are provided cool water by the facility. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the above allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
