What Happened

During the required inspection, the home was toured and records were reviewed for children and staff. The inspector found the outdoor play area cluttered, knives stored in a low drawer without a safety lock, and unstable cubby shelves in the day care room.

Observations

  • front yard and porch had clothing, holiday decorations, and other clutter, and the outdoor play area was not being used
  • knives were stored in a low kitchen drawer without a child safety lock
  • tall cubby shelves in the day care room were shaky and unstable
  • 5 of 5 children's records were reviewed, but LIC 627 was missing from files and safe sleep logs were missing for 3 of 3 infants
  • proof of influenza, pertussis, and measles immunization for the licensee was not readily available
