Routine inspection (3-year)·February 23, 2026

On February 23, 2026 at approximately 12:45PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Zaragoza conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted access by licensee, Ana Maria Lopez. At the entrance the licensee was explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA's visit included the licensee, 1 staff assistant, and 2 children (preschool aged child). All adults living in the home and staff working with children have criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 11:30pm. Licensee lives in a one level home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathroom, kitchen, living room#1, living room #2, recreational room, backyard, and back house. The day care areas are 1/2 bathroom, recreational room, living room#1, and the backyard. The off-limit areas are bedroom #1, bedroom #2 , bedroom #3, bathroom #1, bathroom #2, kitchen, and back house. All off-limit areas are made inaccessible to children in care. LPA toured day care areas of home with the licensee. LPA observed home to be clean and neat. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good condition. LPA confirmed the facilities telephone on file to be working. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible to children in care with installed outlet covers. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and a smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested during visit and were observed to be working. LPA observed trashcans to have tight fitted lids. Cleaning supplies, poisons, and hazardous materials are stored on high shelves, inaccessible to children in care. The napping area was observed to be equipped with mats and playpens for napping children. LPA observed each child to have their own individual mat. During LPAs visit there were no infants present. Per license, they provide the sheets and blankets for enrolled children. Per license, sheets and blankets are washed weekly. (Continue Report on Page 2...) (Continued, Page 2...) Bathroom was observed to be in proper working condition. LPA also observed appropriate sanitation and toileting equipment for children in care. Per licensee, children\342\200\231s parents and themselves, provide diapers and wipes for enrolled children. Per licensee, they provide a food service of breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Children were observed to have appropriate tables and chairs for eating. LPA observed knives to be made inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed kitchen cabinets to not having anything dangerous accessible to children. Outdoor area is entirely enclosed and fenced. Outdoor area includes a variety of toys and equipment that were in good condition and age appropriate. Play area is free from defects and anything dangerous is made inaccessible to children in care. LPA did not observe any pools, spas or bodies of water on site. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s records, which were complete. LPA reviewed the licensee\342\200\231s records, which were complete. License has a pediatric CPR/First Aid certificate and Mandated Reporter certificate. Licensee\342\200\231s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification will expire 07/2026 and Mandated Reporter certification will expire 02/2027. Emergency disaster drills are conducted and are appropriately documented. Last disaster drill was conducted on 01/2026. LPA observed licensing documentation to be properly posted, made available for review. Per licensee, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov / and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee, Ana Maria Lopez. confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed a Megan\342\200\231s Law search on 02/23/2026. There are no deficiencies issued during today\342\200\231s visit. Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
