Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 11/01/2024, beginning at 08:35AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elicia Calvillo and Dawn Dowling conducted an announced second Pre-Licensing inspection at 6920 White Oak Avenue, Lake Balboa, CA 91406. Applicant is applying for a Large Family Child Care Home, anticipating caring for 14 children from ages 2 months to 13 years of age. The applicant\342\200\231s current proposed hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM and Saturday 7:30AM to 3:00PM. LPAs met with Vanessa Nunez, Applicant, who guided LPAs on a tour of the inside and outside of the home. There were no other adults present. Because the applicant rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC 9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). LPAs observed a pool. The fence is designed and installed so children could not remove any portion of it, it completely surrounds the pool, is constructed so that it does not obscure the pool from view, no window or door provides direct access to the pool. Fence is at least 5 feet high (photo taken). The opening between the railing does not exceed 4 inches (photo taken). The gate swings away from the pool, self closes, and self-latches (video taken). The Licensing Program Manager will conduct a review prior to licensure approval. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Vanessa Nunez, Applicant.
