What the inspector wrote

On 07/19/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laticia Thompson conducted an announced Prelicensing Plan of Correction (POC) visit. Upon arrival LPA met with Melanie Martin, Owner. There was a total of 30 children present. LPA observed the following: Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. Furniture was observed to be maintained in good repair and safe condition. The type, height and size of furniture and equipment are age appropriate. The room is equipped with overhead cabinets that will be used to ensure that each child has an individual space for his/her clothing, personal belongings and/or bedding. There are 2 potty chairs. There is a total of 8 cribs located in the separated sleep area. Owner was reminded of Title 22 Regulation 101439.1 (g) Infant Care Center Sleeping Equipment Cribs, mats or cots shall be arranged so as to provide a walkway and work space between the cribs, mats or cots sufficient to permit staff to reach each infant without having to step over or reach over any other infant. There is a cushioned changing pad which meets regulation requirements that will be used for changing infant diapers. Owner was reminded of the the following Title 22 regulation: 101439 (h)(4) Infant Care Center Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment and Supplies : Infant changing tables shall: While in use, be placed within arm's reach of a si nk. The outdoor activity space is equipped with a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment. LPA observed a barricade preventing infants from accessing play apparatus. Owner was reminded of Title 22 regulation 101438.2 Outdoor Activity Space for Infants (b) Outdoor activity space shall be physically separate from space used by children in the child care center and school-age child care center components. LPA observed a thermostat located in the refrigerator to maintain temperature regulations. Based on todays visit all required corrections have been completed An exit interview was conducted with Melanie Martin, Owner. A copy of appeal rights and this report was provided. Final license determination will be made upon review by the Licensing Program Manager.
