What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tatiana Bickham conducted an unannounced Case Management Visit to this facility. While conducting an alternate visit at Srkypnyk & Schevchuk Family Child Care on 05/19/26, the following deficiencies were observed. Licensee's primary language is Russian, staff provided translation. At 1:15 PM LPA observed 2 children napping in the converted garage. Licensee was informed that children can not nap or eat in the converted garage during pre-licensing inspection conducted on 9/18/24 and previous Case Management- Deficiencies Visit conducted on 12/12/24 where the facility received a Type A citation for allowing children to nap in the converted garage. Also noted on the child-care's fire clearance it states "no napping or eating in the garage." The following deficiencies were observed to be in violation of California code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 (refer to 809D). LPA Bickham informed licensee Larysa Schevchuk that this report dated 05/19/2026 document 1 Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Also, LPA Bickham informed the licensee Larysa Schevchuk to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 05/19/2026 that documents any Type A citation to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Licensee was provided with a copy of the Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224) Form during this visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee and Appeals Rights provided.
