What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tatiana Bickham conducted an unannounced Case Management Visit to this facility. While conducting an alternate visit at Wonderkids Preschool & Infant Learning Center on 6/30/25, the following deficiency were observed. At 1:30 PM, LPA observed during file review 3 out of 3 infant teachers did not have infant/toddler units. Without the proper units the facility was out of ratio for those two classrooms. LPA observed in the Blue 1 unqualified teacher with 4 infants and in the orange room LPA observed 2 unqualified staff with 8 infants. The following deficiency listed on the attached deficiency page is being cited in accordance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. The Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee Anna Baghramyan and Appeals Rights provided.

  • INFANT CARE TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES

    Prior to employment, an infant care teacher shall have completed.. at least three postsecondary semesters or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development, and three postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units related to the care of infants... Based upon LPA observation and interview Licensee did not ensure the three infant teachers have infant/toddler units prior to hire. This poses an potential health and safety risk to children in care.

    (E) If an infant falls asleep before being placed in a crib, staff shall move the infant to a crib as soon as possible Based upon LPA observation, staff did not immediately remove sleeping infant from swing. This poses an immediate health and safety risk to children in care.

    A) There is a fully qualified teacher directly supervising no more than 12 infants Based upon LPA observation and record review LPA observed unqualified staff supervision infants. This poses an potential health and safety risk to children in care.
