What the inspector wrote

On September 12, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection. LPA met with Owner/Director Tressa Mendoza and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the director, LPA toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 17 children in the care of 4 adults. No bodies of water were observed during the inspection. The center also has an infant license. The center plans on changing preschool rooms. The center plans on utilizing classrooms #1 and #2 for preschool aged children and eliminating classroom #4 located on the 3rd floor of the facility. Classroom 2 can accommodate up to 13 children at a time and classroom 1 can accommodate up to 8 children at a time. Rooms were observed to be clean and free of hazardous items. The outdoor play area has ample amount of space and has sufficient shade. LPA did not observe any hazards. A fire clearance was granted by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Based on fire clearance Room 4, located on the third floor of the facility cannot be used for child care. Based on indoor/outdoor square footage, sinks and toilets available the center is approved for a maximum capacity of 21 preschool children. LPA reminded owner that any changes or alterations to the indoor or outdoor areas need to be reported to the Department. If the owner plans on changing preschool rooms to infant rooms or vise versus, an application (LIC200A) along with a facility sketch needs to be submitted to the Department for approval and a fire clearance granted. Notice of site visit was provided to Owner/Director as required by H&S Code Section 1596.817. The Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 days or a civil penalty of $100.00 may apply.
