What the inspector wrote

According to Staff interviewed during the course of the investigation, staff stated that they have never observed any staff member pull a child's hair. Staff stated that there was a different incident that occurred; however, that staff member is no longer working at the center. According to children interviewed during the course of the investigation, children stated that they like their teachers and that their teachers are nice to them. Children further stated that their teachers have never hit them or pulled their hair and they have never seen their teachers hit or pull any of their friends hair. According to Parents interviewed during the course of the investigation, they have never observed staff physically hit or pull any child in cares hair. Parents further stated that their children have never made such remarks. -Pertaining to the allegation that \342\200\223 Staff do not keep the kitchen clean and sanitary. According to the RP, staff do not wear gloves when handling food and kitchen is dirty and unsanitary, RP was unable to give further details. According to Staff interviewed during the course of the investigation, staff stated that they do not prepare food at the center. Meal program delivers packaged food, or parents provide packed lunches, while the center provides children with snacks. Staff further stated that the kitchen is cleaned daily and staff has observed one another appropriately following hand washing/sanitizing policies. According to Parents interviewed during the course of the investigation, they have no concerns regarding sanitary practices at the center. LPA observed children's meals to be packaged appropriately in boxes or lunch bags. LPA observed kitchen to be in clean and tidy condition, free of vermin. -Pertaining to the allegation that \342\200\223 Staff do not properly supervise day care children. According to the RP, staff member is constantly on their phone instead of providing adequate supervision to the children in the outdoor play area. According to Staff interviewed during the course of the investigation, staff stated that they have all observed one another appropriately supervising children. Stated that they all work together to ensure children are supervised and have a good system going where they each feel supported by one another. According to parents interviewed during the course of the investigation, parents have no concerns regarding the supervision their children are receiving. -Pertaining to the allegation that \342\200\223 Staff do not keep facility bathrooms clean and sanitary According to the RP, bathrooms utilized by children are unsanitary and often do not have toilet paper or paper towels for the children to use. According to Staff interviewed during the course of the investigation, restrooms can become busy and a bit messy when all the children are utilizing the restroom at the same time such as after play time, etc. Staff stated that at times they might run out of toilet paper or paper towels and they might have to grab them from other restrooms while their requests for more supplies is given to them which might take up to one day. Staff further stated that running out of supplies is not a regular occurrence but they could benefit from having supplies restocked and making sure they do not run out. LPA made observations and observed restrooms to be clean and sanitary. LPA observed sufficient paper towels and toilet paper available on all 3 visits. Based on the evidence as documented above, the allegations have been determined to be Unsubstantiated. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the allegation occurred. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, DEBBIE HEIM.
