What the inspector wrote
On 11/06/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton arrived at the Coleman home to conduct an Required 3 year Inspection. LPA Clayton was greeted by Licensee Cynthia Coleman. LPA Clayton observed 3 children being supervised and cared for appropriately by Licensee and fingerprint cleared assistant. Hours of operation are 24 hours. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, water, milk and juice.
The home was toured with the Licensee for a health and safety inspection. The home is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a two-story home that includes: 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and one \302\275 bathroom, living room, formal dining room, kitchen, laundry room, pantry, family room, upstairs family room and library, a fenced back yard, and in-ground 9 ft deep swimming pool, and detached garage.
The ON LIMIT areas are as follows: formal dining room, downstairs family room (main day care/napping room), kitchen, \302\275 bathroom (#3), laundry room (to access the bathroom only), bedroom #2 (lounge), and fenced backyard. The
ISOLATION AREA
will be in bedroom #2 (lounge).
The OFF-LIMIT AREAS are as follows: living room, bedroom #1 (master), bathroom #1, bathroom #2, and the entire second floor (bedroom #3, bedroom #4, bedroom #5, bathroom #4, upstairs family room and library) all of which will be inaccessible by child safety gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the home. Any poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medication and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible.
The home has a fully charged 3A:40: BC Fire Extinguisher in the kitchen and working smoke detectors in the hallway and main daycare room. LPA confirmed the phone number 310- 677-9737.
There is an in-ground swimming pool that is fenced and meets the Title 22 Regulation for pools in the Operation of a Family Child Care Home.
LPA Clayton reviewed 5 children\342\200\231s files and observed the files to have current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, and authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent\342\200\231s Rights.
Licensee and her assistant have current CPR/First Aid certificates. Licensee has Mandated Reporter training certificate that expires July 2025. LPA Clayton reminded licensee that Mandated Reporter training certificates are to be renewed every 2 years.

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on the purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are not currently being provided. Licensee is aware that an IMS plan is required to be submitted to the licensing office upon completion. LPA reminded Licensee of the Community Care Licensing website

which will provide access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, COVID-19 Information and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations.
Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&R) throughout California.
During the exit interview, Licensee Cynthia Coleman confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the home and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
Per Title 22 Regulations and Health and Safety Codes, no deficiencies or Technical Violations were cited today.
An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read and provided to licensee and will be made available to the public upon request.
LPA Clayton posted the LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit which is to remain posted for 30 days.
