What the inspector wrote

On 12/4/2025 Licensing Program Analyst Veronica Wheatley conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Shannon Robley and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. LPA observed four preschool classrooms. LPA observed the children supervised within proper ratios. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All toilets and hand washing faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Areas around high climbing equipment, slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. The parents bring the children's lunch or provide hot lunch program by Choice Lunch. staff serve an afternoon snack. The snack menu is posted. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. The children bring their own water bottles and they are labeled with their name. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide that meet statutory requirements. Fire department inspects the fire extinguishers annually. LPA observed a swimming pool on the premises. One part of the fence measures at 5ft ( black bar). The gate swings away from the pool, self closes and self latches. The preschool children take swimming lessons with a swim instructor who is trained and certified. In addition, when a child is in swimming lessons a teacher is also assigned with them during the duration of swim time. Prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals are subject to a criminal record review and have received a criminal record clearance or exemption. Upon notification from the Department, the licensee will comply and act immediately to terminate the employment of, remove from the facility or bar from entering the facility for any person it is deemed necessary while the Department considers granting or denying an exemption. The name of the child care center director or fully qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director\342\200\231s absence has been reported to the Department. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. The facility uses Brightwheel. The director printed out a list of all children. LPA reviewed the list and observed three children that were not signed in today. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in care. LPA reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis, measles and current documentation of completed Mandated Reporter Training. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are currently being provided with EPI-pen and for Diabetes. Licensee is aware that an IMS plan is required to be submitted to the licensing office if they provide any of these services. LPA Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations and LIC 624 was discussed. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, Type B deficiencies is cited. Technical advisory discussed. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read and provided to the Director. Appeals rights were discussed and LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
