What the inspector wrote

On 11/21/25 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ranita Richmond conducted an unannounced case management incident inspection at Playhouse Preschool Kindergarten, located in, Redondo Beach, 90277 for the purpose of following up on the unusual incident that was self-reported by the facility. The El Segundo Child Care Regional Office received the report on 11/17/2025. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee Shirani Perera and discussed the purpose of the visit. LPA toured the facility. LPA observed 26 children in care being supervised by 3 fingerprint cleared staff during the visit. According to the incident report, on 11/17/2025, C1 and C2 were fighting over a toy when C2 bit C1 on the hand. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA conducted interviews with C1, C2, and staff. During the date of the incident, C1 and C2 were in the classroom playing with toys when C2 bit C1 due to wanting access to the toy C1 was in possession of. No skin broken. Based on the information received there is not sufficient evidence to indicate that there was a lack of care and supervision. At this time, no further investigation is necessary. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies cited today. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report along with the Notice of Site Visit were provided to licensee Shirani Perera.
